Nasser al-Din Muhammad, son of Asad al-Din Sherko, son of Shadi, was the only heir when his father died in 564 AH, so he was given the regions of Homs, Rajba, and all the other areas that were Sherko’s Iqta, by Noor al-Din Mahmoud Zanghie. However, a few months after Sherko’s death, Noor al-Din Mahmoud took back all the territories from Naser al-Din. Therefore, Nasser al-Din Muhammad moved to Egypt and stayed there from 567 to 569 AH, then all the members of his family were in Egypt, while his cousin, Salah al-Din was the ruler of Egypt. After the death of Noor al-Din Mahmoud, Salah al-Din took over most of the Levant in 570 AH, returning Homs and all the former territories to his cousin, Nasser al-Din. Afterwards, Nasser al-Din participated in many of Saladin's military campaigns, being one of his most influential military leaders. He participated in all the three campaigns against Mosul and paid Salah al-Din so that the latter would hand over Mosul to him after invading the city. He also made attempts to take power from Salah al-Din, regarding himself more worthy to rule. In fact, when Salah al-Din was suffering from a severe illness in 581 AH, Naser al-Din arrived in Homs and received promises from princes and leaders to support him in succeeding to power after Salah al-Din death. Even some of the Damascenes joined in and promised him their support. However, Naser al-Din died on the eve of Eid al-Adha of that same year. Some historians accuse Salah al-Din of his murder because he had tried to gain power. Naser al-Din died leaving a son and a daughter behind him.
